Press release: Invitation to Press Conference at dAIR Final Event 13 October 2014

Monday 29th of September 2014 - News, Press Releases

As a follow-up to the e-mail sent by the Airport Regions Conference on 25th of September, we would like to remind you to RSVP for the press conference of the dAIR project’s final event entitled Getting dAIR: Clean airports. Decarbonised regions, which will be held in Brussels on 13th of October 2014 at 15:30.

For the past three years 14 partners from 10 European regions have been working on reducing CO2 emissions in a project called dAIR (Decarbonised Airport Regions). The project deals not only with transport policy, but also with environmental, innovation and regional policy issues. During this project, partners have been exchanging best practices in terms of surface access and airport operations and some pilot projects have already been implemented in a couple of regions.  For instance, in Barcelona, in the municipality of El Prat, a bus on demand system has been installed which will facilitate the transport of airport employees at odd hours to and from the airport. In Leipzig, a system called job-ticket is now available to most airport employees and it offers free train tickets out and into the airport.

The project partner regions of the dAIR project are: City of Eindhoven, Eindhoven Airport N.V, Airport Regions Conference, Communauté d’agglomération Terres de France, Stockholm Public Transport Authority, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport/Swedavia, City of Leipzig, Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding, City of Vienna, Province of Bologna, City of El Prat de Llobregat, Transport Malta, Mazovia Voivodship and Prague Airport Region.

Event location: Rue Montoyer / Montoyerstraat 21, 1000 Brussels
